Media: Metal and Suede Lace
My inspiration for this piece was Native American culture. I like the juxtaposition of how a real bow arrow and quiver would be made from natural and organic material while being soft and flowing, while my sculpture is made from sharp metal. The juxtaposition emphasis the contrast between industrial society and old cultures.

My inspiration for this piece was the music in Native American culture. This piece also shows the juxtaposition by using metal instead of the natural materials drums are usually made from. I cut the animal skull with feathers by using a plasma cutter. I made the drum very shiny which also contrast with the old culture.

This is one of my favorite pieces that I've made. This is the first piece in my concentration of Native American culture for AP 3D. I started to experiment with the pressure of the plasma cutter to make details on the feathers without completely cutting through.
Dreamcatcher

My Inspiration for this piece was Native American culture. Unlike the other pieces I have made influenced by Native American culture, I made this piece with the materials that it is originally made form. I made this dream catcher from suede lace, sinew, and feathers.
Plaster Parallelogram

This is the first plaster piece that i have made, I started by making an open form using foam board that i could pour the plaster into. After the plaster set and i could take it out of the form, i had to polish the plaster to make it smooth, i used chisels, sponges and sand paper to do so. This piece reminds me of a parallelogram although it wasn't intentional.
Apple in Jar

My inspiration for this piece was a motif of an apple. I wanted the jar to be painting red and orange to unify the jar with the apple. the background is black ink to create contrast between the vibrant jar and the blank and white background.
Skeleton with Vines

My inspiration for this piece was soft anatomy. I tried to create a scene of a skeleton with vine growing throughout the bones, to connect the skeleton with nature. I also included the contrast between using vibrant colors against black and white.
Newspaper Dress

My inspiration for this dress was pollution and recycling, I wanted to make wearable art from an unconventional material. I dyed the newspaper with coffee, and used hemp twine for some aspects of the dress. I wanted to be the model for this piece because i wanted to interact with my own artwork.
Winter Dress

My inspiration for this dress was the winter season. I made the dress with fabric but added snowflakes that i cut from coffee filters to the bottom piece. I made a crown from silver twigs and added lace bell sleeves. I am very happy with this piece and it reminds me of snow queen attire.
